- A fifteen year old boy sustained a closed head injury with a GCS of 7, bilateral pulmonary contusions and a grade II liver injury. He is intubated in the ER. He is hypotensive with a temperature of 35.2 C, and fluid resuscitation is begun per trauma guidelines. He has an initial base deficit of 7mEq/L, a platelet count of 75,000, a hemoglobin of 10 g/dL and an INR of 1.8.
