Pancreatic disorders in children requiring surgical intervention encompass a broad spectrum of both congenital and acquired disorders and can be divided into four major groups: pancreatitis, anatomical malformations, hyperinsulinism and neoplasms [1]. While pancreatic tumors are of rare occurrence in children, pediatric surgeons need to be familiar with pancreatic anatomy, surgical technique and postoperative management. Here we will discuss relevant anatomy and surgical resections for the treatment of pancreatic neoplasms.
