Introduction

Congenital esophageal stenosis is an umbrella term and represents three histologically distinct lesions

tracheobronchial rests and remnants
fibromuscular hypertrophy
mucosal webbing [1][2]

These conditions must, by definition, be present at birth. They must also be distinguished from acquired esophageal stenosis resulting most often to gastroesophageal reflux.
