The stomach is one of the most resilient organs in the gastrointestinal tract. While gastric pathology is much less common in children than adults, the stomach can be a site of acute obstruction or perforation requiring emergent surgery at any point in childhood. This section will discuss the variety of surgical conditions that a pediatric surgeon may encounter during routine practice.
