Tumors of the pancreas are relatively uncommon in children and infrequently encountered by pediatric surgeons. While pancreatic adenocarcinoma represents approximately three percent of malignancies in adults, the infrequency of both benign and malignant pancreatic tumors in childhood makes diagnosis, classification and management challenging.
