Electrical injuries account for three to five percent of all admissions to burn units [1]. They account for a minority of pediatric thermal injuries. Significant electrical injuries can result in serious morbidity and mortality, however, most electrical injuries in children are minor, occur at home and rarely result in significant tissue damage, disability or death.
