Duodenal Injury

Introduction

Duodenal injuries comprise three to five percent of all abdominal injuries [1]. Due to the duodenum’s proximity to the vertebra, blow out injuries and multiple associated injuries (e.g. pancreas, liver, spleen and kidney) are possible [2][3][4].
